Philip Glass
The composer of repetitive music who took his style into film: Koyaanisqatsi, The Truman Show and The Hours.
He founded the Philip Glass Ensemble in 1968 and is one of the key names of minimalism, though he prefers to speak of 'music with repetitive structures'. He came to film with Godfrey Reggio's Koyaanisqatsi (1982), a film without dialogue where the music is everything. He was Oscar-nominated for Kundun, The Hours and Notes on a Scandal. He won the Golden Globe for The Truman Show and the BAFTA for The Hours.
