Jean-Michel Jarre
The electronic music pioneer and son of Maurice Jarre wrote a single film score: Les Granges brûlées (1973).
The son of composer Maurice Jarre, who wrote Lawrence of Arabia and Doctor Zhivago, he trained at Pierre Schaeffer's Groupe de Recherches Musicales in Paris. Before Oxygène (1976) made him famous, he scored Les Granges brûlées, a drama by Jean Chapot starring Simone Signoret and Alain Delon; it is his only film score. His music has reached other films, though: Peter Weir used Oxygène in Gallipoli (1981), whose original score is by Brian May. His career lies in records and huge open-air concerts, not in film.
