Éric Serra

Luc Besson's composer: The Big Blue, Nikita, Léon and The Fifth Element. He also scored GoldenEye.

He has scored almost all of Luc Besson's films since the short L'Avant dernier (1981). The Big Blue won him the César in 1989. Then came Nikita, Léon and The Fifth Element. In 1995 he wrote GoldenEye, an electronic score that divided Bond fans. Note that the US version of The Big Blue used different music, by Bill Conti.

Style
Synthesisers, electric bass and percussion, with aquatic and urban moods.
Awards
César for The Big Blue (1989). Several more César nominations.
