Craig Armstrong

A Scot, he blends orchestra with electronics and pop: he wrote string arrangements for Massive Attack (Protection) and Madonna (Ray of Light). With Baz Luhrmann he won the BAFTA for Romeo + Juliet and won again with Moulin Rouge!, which also brought him the Golden Globe. He has also scored Love Actually and The Great Gatsby.
